Pioneers Lose Series to Columbia State
The Pioneers hosted Columbia State in a TCCAA match up this weekend.
The Pioneers won the first game of the series by a score of 15-5 (6 innings) behind the starting pitch of Caiden Johnson who went 4.1 innings and struck out 5. Dylan Penick came in relief and threw the final 1.2 innings allowing no hits and no runs. Johnson improves to 4-1 on the season.
The next two games did not go the Pioneers way. Falling 5-3 in game two and 17-7 (7 innings) in game three. In game two, Eli Clotfelter had a solid outing in his first conference start, but the Pioneer bats could not get going. Game three was a back-and-forth contest with Columbia State leading 9-7 through 6 innings, but the Chargers scored 8 runs in the 7th inning to open the game up.

Pioneers will be back in action at home on Wednesday March 23 for a 1:00 DH vs Cumberland University JV before hosting Dyersburg State in a weekend series.
