Walters State Defeats Pioneers
After winning their 2 mid-week games against Lake Area (11-1, 18-1), the Pioneers took on nationally ranked (#1) Walters State in a TCCAA series.
Game one had the Pioneers leading 1-0 through 5 innings on an outstanding pitching performance by Dillion Bland but the defense gave up 2 unearned runs in the 6th to end his day. The Senators then scored 7 runs in the 7th for a final score of 9-1.
Game 2 and 3 did not go the Pioneers way falling to the Senators 9-1 (HR by Dalton Pyzer) and 8-3 (2R HR by Landon Godsey). Pioneers had very good relief appearances by Caid Sanders (game 2) and Gavin Wolf (game 3). Here are the top performers from the weekend:
