Pioneers Sweep Jackson State on the Road
Game one was an offensive contest. The long ball proved to be the difference for the Pioneers led by Cam Madding (3-5 HR 5RBI), Dalton Pyzer (HR 2RBI), and Caleb Hawkins (HR RBI). Caid Sanders pitched well in 4.2 innings of relief to get the win. Final Score Pioneers 13 Jackson St 7.
Game two was a back and forth affair with the Pioneers trailing late. Jacob Messer came on to pitch hit and delivered a 2RBI double to tie the game then the Pioneers went on to score 5 more runs to push the game open for a 12-8 victory.
Game three was a pitcher dual and was tied 2-2 going into the 6th. A sac fly put the Pioneers up 3-2. Three hitters later Carter Vrabel hit a long 3R HR to push the lead to 6-2. Nathan Rhodes provided another great relief outing and closed it out for a final score of 6-3. Finishing off the second straight conference weekend sweep.
