Vol State Falls to Cleveland State

In a great showing, Kendrea Duke scored 17 points but it was not enough as Volunteer State fell to Cleveland State 62-52.  Cleveland State grabbed the lead against Volunteer State on a three-pointer from T. Simmons in the second period and held on.  Volunteer State fell behind fast after scoring a game-high 18 points during the first quarter and trailed 28-26 by the half.  Making 47% (8-for-17) of shots from the field, Duke had a solid performance on the court for Volunteer State.
Denisha Bowman also contributed 4 points, seven rebounds, two steals and three blocks.  Two other players also added ten or more points for Volunteer State. Zoe Johnson scored 13 points and Jemiah Harrison added 13 points.
